Hillside's Michael DiTullo Honored by JDRF
Gala Raises $120,000 for Juvenile Diabetes Research
Hillside Companies EVP Michael DiTullo received the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Hope Award at this year's annual Hope Gala on Saturday, May 5th, 2007. The black tie gala, held at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, raised $120,000 for research to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.
According to the Gala co-chairs, Michael was chosen for his commitment and dedication to the growth and revitalization of our communities. "Michael's vision and leadership has inspired hope and promise to many in our community. As our honoree, we applaud his integrity and generosity in providing such thoughtful leadership, " they said.
In his acceptance remarks Michael noted, "Giving to our community is different than giving back. Giving back implies that you've taken something. You are here not because of anything you've taken but of your genuine ability to give."
According to JDRF, partnerships with outstanding citizens such as Michael DiTullo, are what enable them to speed faster down the path to a cure.
